Teacher accuses antidrug cops of stealing valuables

first_imgILOILO City – A school teacher accusedoperatives of the Police Regional Office 6’s (PRO-6) Regional Drug EnforcementUnit (RDEU) of stealing valuables from her home during a raid of a neighbor’shouse in Barangay Cuartero, Jaro district. According to Arlene Bolivar Braga, shelost a wristwatch, a jewelry box and its contents and a piggy bank. His next actions would depend on theresult of the probe, said Tuzon. Police Colonel Harold Tuzon, PRO-6deputy regional director for operations, confirmed having received thecomplaint. RDEU raided the house of Braga’sneighbor Romeo Tribunal on Dec. 4. But according to the teacher, some cops alsobarged into her house. Besas declined to issue a statement.His immediate superior, Tuzon, said PRO-6’s Regional Investigationand Detective Management Division would do the investigation. An investigation would be conducted onRDEU chief Police Lieutenant Jersy Besas and several policemen, he added. December last year, RDEU men were alsoaccused of stealing valuables during a raid of the house of 84-year-oldCandelaria Regalado in Barangay Sambag, Jaro.  Regalado was the mother-in-law ofslain drug lord Melvin Odicta Sr. She claimed to have lost P3-million worth ofjewelry and cash, and filed administrative and criminal charges against sixRDEU personnel and eight members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement AgencyRegion 6./PNlast_img
