first_imgRelatedPosts No directive to constitute disciplinary committee against us — Ojudu, others ‘Army Officer’ in EFCC net for alleged multiple fraud COVID-19: NCAA to revoke erring airlines licence over non-compliance A Swedish appeals court has found former Nigeria international Dickson Etuhu guilty of match-fixing.The Court of Appeals in Stockholm said in a release on Wednesday it was clear that Etuhu and an unnamed former player tried to influence AIK keeper Kyriakos “Kenny” Stamatopoulos to fix a match in Sweden’s top division in 2017.Etuhu, who played for several English clubs, including Manchester City, Sunderland and Fulham, escaped a jail sentence, but was instead fined and sentenced to serve probation, without further details being made public.The 37-year-old, who left AIK Solna in 2016, says he will be appealing against the ruling at the Supreme Court.The court said: “The content of what the men submitted to the player (Stamatopoulos) was so clear that it should be considered a criminal offer of bribe.”Etuhu had initially been acquitted by a court last year but was appealed by prosecutor Johan Lindmark, who told local Swedish newspaper Expressen that he was satisfied with today’s outcome.“It was with satisfaction that I received the verdict today,” Lindmark said.“I had appealed on the grounds that I thought the court of law would change and was not surprised when I saw the verdict.”Etuhu played 20 times for the Super Eagles, including twice at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2008 and 2010, as well as the World Cup in South Africa.last_img read more

Six Medals for BiH on EC in Zurich

first_imgThe Youth karate national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina has won six medals (one gold, two silver and three bronze) at the 42th European Championship for cadets, juniors and younger seniors (U21) which took place in Zurich.The gold medal was won by the cadet Hamza Čajić in category up to 70 kg,  the silver medals were won by the cadet Faruk Sijerčić (up to 52 kg) and the junior Ajla Mahmutović (up to 53 kg).Delfina Tadić (up to 59 kg), youngest senior Ena Gljiva (up to 68 kg) and Anes Čongo (up to 75 kg) won bronze medals.At the European Championship in Zurich, 46 karate teams from the Old Continent took participation. A portion of the proceeds from this wine benefits Aberdeen’s Driftwood Theater.Smoky Nor’wester earned gold medal. This wine is composed of 95% Sangiovese from Red Willow Vineyard in the Yakima Valley AVA and 5% Petite Sirah from Jones Vineyard on the Wahluke Slope. This wine benefits the Museum of the North Beach in Moclips.Elk River Riesling won a bronze medal. These grapes also come from Red Willow Vineyard. This wine benefits the Twin Harbors Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.Westport Winery’s award-winning wines are exclusively available at the winery.
