Vale Bronwyn Carruthers

first_imgOn behalf of the Touch Football community, Touch Football Australia wishes to extend its condolences to the family of Bronwyn Carruthers, who passed away last week. Bronwyn was a long standing member of the New South Wales Touch Association (NSWTA) and one of the early pioneers of female refereeing in the sport. Not only was Bronwyn a graded referee reaching a badge Level 5, she also administered the sport serving time with the ‘old’ Region Eight as Assistant Director and Selectors Director. Further to this Bronwyn also assisted both the NSWTA and Touch Football Australia on their Tournament Committees. She passed peacefully at Sutherland Hospital on January 31, 2014. A dearly loved wife of James (known to the Touch world as Jimmy), who will be sadly missed by all her relatives and friends. Bronwyn’s funeral will be held at the South Chapel, Woronora Crematorium, Linden Street Sutherland on Thursday, 6 February at 1.00pm.
