Athletic Director Headaches

first_imgAs I am sitting here writing this blog and watching the freezing precipitation fall from the sky, I know what every athletic director in the area has been doing since school was called off this morning.  Most of them had basketball, wrestling, and swimming to reschedule.  This means that they have to work in the games that are being cancelled because they probably count in everyone’s conference schedule.Since the girls’ basketball schedule is just 2.5 weeks away and girls swimming is quickly coming to its conclusion, this reduces the available dates.  Also, whatever officials were scheduled for that tonight will probably not be available when they find a make-up date.  All the workers (ticket takers, concessions, supervision, etc.) also need to be rescheduled.  The athletic director can only hope that most of his workers can still work.My sympathy to all athletic directors, because this winter appears to be one that is not ready to be over.  These activities might have to be rescheduled again!last_img read more
