With Phish’s summer tour now underway, fans continue to expect the unexpected at each show. The band has given their loyal followers a bounty of surprises, between a cappella David Bowie covers, bust out Beatles covers, and, of course, new music. After working on a new album for the first half of the year, it’s no surprise that the band has been steadily sharing a stream of new songs. After a bust-out heavy opener in Minnesota, Phish settled into Wrigley Field for a two-night run to remember. The band took the opportunity to share a brand new track, titled “Miss You,” during the first set of the first show. The slower ballad was a nice emotional moment, sandwiched between “Sand” and “The Wedge.”Listen to “Miss You” below, via YouTube user Tom Rowles. The next debut came at the Klipsch Music Center last Sunday, June 26th, when the band again took a moment out of the first set to share a new song. Titled “Breath and Burning,” the slower funky jam was a treat after a fun “Lawn Boy,” and got fans excited to hear what more could come.Listen to “Breath and Burning” below, via YouTube user shinepigeon 2.0.Phish’s summer tour continues tonight, June 28th, with two nights at the Mann Center in Philadelphia, PA.
