Muffet McGraw of Notre Dame

first_imgAnn O’Brien (Muffet) McGraw was just announced as one of the new inductees into the Basketball Hall of Fame.  She is part of an 11-member class that includes Rebecca Lobo and George McGinnis among others.McGraw, of course, is currently the head women’s basketball coach at Notre Dame.  In her 27 seasons at Notre Dame she has compiled a 662-217 record.  The 61-year old Pennsylvania native has been married to Matt McGraw since 1977.Had it not been for Connecticut, Muffet would have probably had several NCAA championships of her own.  There have been 4 women’s programs that have dominated the women’s scene since they have joined the men in a national tournament.  Besides Connecticut you would have to add Tennesse, Stanford, and Notre Dame.Congratulations to Coach McGraw!last_img
