Agreement Signed for Wisconsin Shoreline Stabilization Project

first_imgThe U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, and Wisconsin’s Village of Colfax signed a project partnership agreement July 3, to stabilize around 1,300 feet of shoreline along the Red Cedar River. The purpose of the project is to keep wastewater from the Colfax Waste Water Treatment Plant from entering the Red Cedar River.Erosion has cut the bank to within 50 feet of the wastewater treatment lagoon berm, which is the barrier between the lagoon and the river.According to USACE, severe safety and environmental impacts would occur if erosion continued and wastewater from the lagoon entered the river. The project, covered under the Corps’ emergency stream bank protection program, will include placing around 6,000 tons of rock riprap to create a stable slope. The project has a total cost of approximately $1.7 million, of which $1 million will be federally funded through the Corps of Engineers. It is anticipated construction will be complete by the end of 2021.last_img read more

O’Neill: Villa role good for Keane

first_img O’Neill has revealed he spoke to Villa manager Paul Lambert about the demands the position would make on Keane’s time before sanctioning the move, which will see the former Manchester United captain combine the two jobs. O’Neill told the Irish Independent: “My view is if it doesn’t impinge on the job here with Ireland, then in actual fact it will end up being good for him. “I know that if we couldn’t have made it work, he wouldn’t have taken the job in the first place. “If his commitments to us – both on the commercial side and certainly from my viewpoint in terms of the time working with players – is not impinged at all, then I’m happy for it to go ahead, genuinely happy. “Villa have agreed to give him all that time with us and therefore I don’t really have a problem with it. I spoke with Paul to see how he felt it was going to work. “He said that he gives the players, the senior players who are not involved at international level, a lot of time off anyway during that time [international breaks] and even if they did come back for a day or two, they could cope with that.” Republic of Ireland boss Martin O’Neill is confident number two Roy Keane will benefit from his joint role as Aston Villa’s assistant manager. center_img Press Associationlast_img read more
